The houses are made out of rocks and give a very rugged look. The owner had given interesting names to these houses according to his imagination – Barn House, Chalet House, Creek House, Diamond House, Cook House, and many more. The last one is the Cloud House built in 1985.

The Forest houses resort is spread over 20 acres of forest land and has fourteen 1 to 2 bedroom houses and one apartment as well. The place is generally booked through out the year and sometimes the booking is done almost a year in advance. Forest Houses Resort is one of its kinds in Sedona because it is located very close to nature.

The rooms of the resort have rustic interiors in order to match the background of the forest. The wood fireplace or burning stoves make the rooms look rugged. The rooms are equipped will all modern amenities – queen size beds, bath tubs, shower baths, furnished kitchens and patios or decks.



The Forest House is meant to be cut off from the world and thus, the resort has not provided any Television, or Computer connection in the rooms. You can be with yourself as you watch the spectacular views from the room. Read your favorite book and contemplate about life. However, there are various outdoor activities that you can indulge in while staying at the Forest House – horse back riding, golfing at the nearby Golf course, hiking the trails of Red Rocks, fishing the trout and bird watching.

Many retired couples who come here for enjoying long holidays come and stay in the resort and look back at the past years of their life. The place is also popular among honeymooners who prefer these cozy wooden houses for romantic getaways. It might not be a good idea to stay in such kind of place for long if you have growing kids with you. Due to lack of any electronic entertainment the kids might feel bored.
The average rate per Houses inside the Resort ranges from $120 - $ 140 per night, lesser than any hotel with so many facilities.
