June – September (Summer) Between June and September, Sedona becomes a getaway for people of hotter cities like Phoenix, Scottsdale or Tucson. This is because; Sedona has a higher desert elevation as compared to low lying areas like Phoenix or Tucson. These cities are known for intense summers with the mercury rising to 3 digits at times. Thus, the residents find good respite in Sedona with even as high temperature as 90 degrees Fahrenheit. October – November (Fall) Fall in Sedona makes it a perfect place to see natural beauty. The changing colors of the leaves against the background of red rocks create a medley of colors. Sedona becomes breathtakingly beautiful during the Fall. Outdoor activities are possible in winter because the city roads are not covered with snow. In fact snowfall in Sedona is not a daily feature and might happen on and off. The average day temperature ranges from upper 50s to lower 60 degree Fahrenheit. Although, summer and winter in Sedona are low seasons but still Sedona has something for tourists in all the seasons. In fact, if you want to make your trip economical, you will find good deals during summers and winters. Boarding and lodging are quite economical during these two extreme seasons. Sedona is worth visiting in all the four seasons. The weather of Sedona is never as extreme as it is in other nearby places like Phoenix or Tucson. However, summer in Sedona experiences frequent thunderstorms which are intense as dark clouds encircling the whole region resulting in rains.
